AE-FUNAI ACADEMIC SECURES SCHOLARSHIP FOR BI-NATIONAL PHD PROGRAMME

As Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndfu-Alike, Ebonyi State continues to harvest the benefits of its investment in academic staff development, especially through the postgraduate scholarship partnership between the University, an assistant lecturer in the Department of English and Literary Studies, Mr. Lucky Nte has been offered a scholarship by the French Ministry of Education to pursue a bi-national PhD programme in English Linguistics at Lumiere    University, Lyon, France and the University of Freiburg, Germany respectively.

Nte who obtained his Master’s degree in France through the post graduate scholarship partnership between the University and the French Government will be conducting his doctoral research on Communication Strategies of West African Anglophone Medical Professionals in Teaching Hospitals in France and Germany.

While commending Nte for his achievement, the Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Prof. Sunday Elom, noted that the benefits of the postgraduate scholarship partnership between the University and the French Government were enormous and far-reaching, adding that it has exposed many of the university’s young academics to international relationships.

 

The Vice-Chancellor maintained that his administration will continue to expose the staff of the University to international opportunities in order to equip them for the demands of the 21st century teaching learning and research.
