AE-FUNAI TO SUSTAIN COLLABORATION WITH TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY BERGAKADEMIE (TUB), GERMANY – VC

The Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Prof. Sunday Elom, has pledged to sustain the staff mobility programme partnership between the university and the Technological University Bergakademie (TUB), Germany, which was consummated in 2020.

The Vice-Chancellor spoke yesterday when four staff of the university from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology who are billed to travel to Germany under the partnership, and sponsored by the European Erasmus  programme, paid him a courtesy call in his office.

While commending the positive impact of the partnership, the Vice-Chancellor noted that it meant a lot to the university, pledging to sustain the collaboration till he leaves office.

“The programme means a lot to us, and we hope to continue with it till I leave as the Vice-Chancellor”, he stated.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Director, Research and Development,Engr. Prof. Onuegbu O. Ugwu, noted that four staff of the university would be leaving for Germany for two months through the strategic collaboration between AE-FUNAI and the Technical University Bergakademie (TUB), Germany under the sponsorship of Erasmus + programme.

He stressed the importance of the 2-month trip on staff development, adding that through it they hope to deepen the relationship between the University and Technological University Bergakademie (TUB), Germany.

The Professor of Civil Engineering further stated that the Memorandum of Understanding for the collaboration between the two universities was signed in 2020, and meant to last for three years.

The 4 benefitting staff are: Prof. Onuegbu O.  Ugwu, Engr. Dr. P. Uche Onochie,Engr. Chukwuemeka Ozor and Engr. Stanley Ezeocha.
